SUMMARY
We are seeking a qualified Childcare Shift Supervisor to work onsite at a government specified location. This position is responsible for protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the youths between the ages of 2 to 17 and monitoring the activities of the Childcare Team Lead and YCW. The Childcare Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision, support and direction to staff and youths.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Observes and oversees all designated physical facilities to ensure safety of all youths and staff at all times.
  • Coordinates youth care workers daily schedules within assigned pod/dorm
  • Supervises assigned youth care workers
  • Responsible for overall movement coordination of UAC within assigned area.
  • Liaises with maintenance or other relevant personnel in the event of any suspected or confirmed safety issues.
  • Monitors the direct care and safety of all youths at all times.
  • Monitors the maintenance of proper health standards at each facility including, but not limited to, those taken in accordance with the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Liaises with facility staff and case workers as appropriate to ensure the administration of all physical facilities.
  • Guide overall performance of child health care plan
  • Support care management programs and processes to meet program and federal objectives
  • Direct the implementation of policies and procedures, work processes, financial reporting, compliance, systems, ensuring metrics are established and measured
  • Manage all youth care leaders
  • Ensures appropriate discipline is maintained across the facility
  • Directs development and delivery of structured children’s activity
  • Facilitates ongoing communication with team-members to achieve effective and efficient program operations
  • Prepare and discuss performance including evaluations
  • Conduct team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
This position has management authority

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, early childhood, child development or social science.
  • Minimum of two years of relative supervision experience
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check is required and must maintain a clear criminal background.
  • Strong customer service background
  • Spanish/English bilingual fluency required
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently/
DESIRED:
  • A Masters Degree in Youth Development, Child Development or a related field, which can include Recreation, Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, Home Economics with an emphasis in Human Development, or other degrees as appropriate
  • 4 years of full-time experience working with youths between the ages of 2-17.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of youth between the ages of 2-17.
  • Relevant certification in youth care
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
